About Josh Evans for State Rep
Raised on the Evans Family Farm located fifteen miles outside of Carrollton, Illinois, Josh learned the value of hard work early on and what it meant to grow up in an agricultural community. To this day, he deeply respects his agricultural roots, and Josh possesses an immense appreciation for farmers and their families.
Upon graduation from Carrollton High School, Josh volunteered at the age of 17 to enlist as a Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) in the military. This demanding career field at the time had a dropout rate of 60%. Josh successfully completed the strenuous physical training and earned his beret. After completion of his training, Josh deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan- leading a controller team in Afghanistan. During his time in combat, Josh developed a strong desire to continue serving his country and community.
After the military, Josh completed the remainder of his undergraduate studies at Southern Illinois University Carbondale in under two years. After completing his undergraduate studies at SIUC, he went to Saint Louis University School of Law. Josh previously worked for Monsanto where he furthered his understanding of the agriculture industry. Today, Josh and his wife Ashley reside in Jerseyville, Illinois where he is employed at Wittman & Lorton, P.C.
